Based in Brooklyn, NY, the band is fronted by Swedish vocalist and songwriter Sandrinne Edström and co-created with keyboardist Richard Lowenburg. No two Mysa shows will ever be the same! Because of the project’s emphasis on community and collaboration, each Mysa show usually features anywhere from 2-8 of NYC's funkiest musicians.

They released their electrifying debut album The Doormat Album in 2024. Their next project is an EP which takes on a thoughtful and focused energy channeled through jazz-influences and sensitive improvisation.

Mysa’s mission is to bring rich emotional life and a feminine perspective into the funk and jazz genre.

Our funk-jazz-fusion music lifts our lyricism up energetically as we explore themes of identity, fortitude, feminism, and power struggles, along with the mental struggles of being an artist in a changing physical and digital world.

Mysa’s debut album, “The Doormat Album”, four years in the making, is right now smack dab in the middle of its waterfall release of 9 electrifying tracks.

One track is “might get to it”- a funk bop about overcoming procrastination and imposter syndrome in pursuit of being an artist.
